Meadowbank

Compact and convenient

Meadowbank is another Sydney suburb that offers both ultra-modern, high-density apartment living and expansive, stately freestanding homes. Its waterfront aspect gives it an open, airy feel while expansive and pleasant public green spaces occupy much of the suburb’s physical space as well.

Key stats

A clear example of the clash of “old-meets-new” in Sydney’s suburban development, Meadowbank is one of the suburbs that has its own charm. While it’s only a physically small suburb, the streetscape is so different on the west side of its station to the east that it basically feels like two entirely different suburbs in one.

With Rhodes located just across the water, and a mirror image to one another. the infrastructure It’s only appropriate that it lies just across the water from Rhodes, which is basically its mirror image in many ways. Whether you are looking for expensive, large and older homes or a little slice of modernly-designed, high-density living, the choice for property is endless.

Transportation

Located on the North Bank of the Parramatta River, Meadowbank is at the core of the intersection of North, South, East and west of Sydney. Benefiting from the best of two cities, the suburb is only 15 km away from Sydney CBD, and 10 km to the west is Parramatta (NSW’s second city).

Trains are the primary choice of travel for local residents as it takes around 27 minutes to Central Station in CBD with trains running every 10 minutes on average and 7 minutes during peak hours.

With the ferry terminal being only 10-15 minutes’ walk from Meadowbank railway station, ferries are also a favourite option for local residents as they get to enjoy the beautiful water scenery. The ferry usually runs every 30 minutes with travel time being roughly 33 minutes to Parramatta via the Olympic Park and 40 minutes to Circular Quay via Darling Harbour.

Shopping & Entertainment

When it comes to shopping, residents are spoiled with choices as they are surrounded by many shopping centres. With the Shepherds Bay Village Plaza located in the heart of Meadowbank, it offers two large chain supermarkets, vegetable and fruit markets, Asian grocery, family doctors, dentists and pharmacies. Located nearby you will find larger outlets including Top Ryde Shopping Centre, Rhodes Waterside Shopping Centre and Costco.

Education

Meadowbank is a small suburb with an abundance of educational resources where you will find several highly sought-after schools catering to the area.

Primary Schools

There are two private primary schools St Michael’s Catholic Primary School and Italian bilingual school. The public primary schools are Meadowbank public school and Ryde public school nearby.

High Schools

The nearby middle schools all have good rankings in the new state college entrance examination (HSC), such as Ryde Secondary College, a public school offering elite classes, Holy Cross College, a private boys’ school, and Riverside Girls High School, a public girls’ school.

In addition to this, there is also a TAFE located next to Meadowbank railway station. According to the latest planning and construction, the new state government spent $137 million to build Meadowbank TAFE into a multi-trades and digital technology hub.
